Not Getting What You Want… Try This

retail.jpgDo you have trouble getting people down off the ledge or getting what you want? Well then you are probably a terrible negotiator. Not all things are going to go your way because, news flash, the world doesn’t revolve around you or your problems. Negotiation is life key that we all need to learn or at least try in order to get closer to the things we need want. Here are a few steps to help you out…

  • Be Respectful: Nobody wants to deal with someone acting obscene, this behavior only escalates the situation into a non-productive realm. By acting orderly and respectful you can work more effectively towards a common ground.
  • Be Candid: Make it known whats needed for you to satisfied. No sense in beating around the bush.
  • Talk to the person in Charge: No use and wasting time with simple minded peons. Ask to speak with someone who has some authority over your situation.
  • Agree to Disagree: There is always going to be disagreements in negotiating as it is the essence of the practice. Allowing yourself to accept such obstacles will in effect prepare you for a more cordial and productive discussion.
  • Be Prepared: No sense in making a fuss and not having anything to back up your claims. Bring all applicable information to the table to produce a genuine stance on your side of the negotiation.
  • Be Patient: This is probably one of the most important ones because it is easy to become upset when things don’t go your way. Don’t let the bastard across from you the ammunition he needs to tell you no. Stay patient and keep your cool, it shows class.

Remember these steps as they will most likely make a positive impression for you side of the argument.

Too Many Passwords??

From Wordpess, to Gmail, Amazon, and YourSpace as well as every other new site you decide to sign up for today, there is a definitive chance that you are required to put in a log in/password. Who wants knows them all or even want to remember them? Not me! Generally people use the same log in/password for every new site they come across which can be a dastardly approach to webbing. If a person, lets call him a thief, were to gain access, or steal, your log in/password you would be SOL because they could reuse your info on different sites causing chaos and for you unwanted stress.

Alas, there is KeePass, a free open-source application that enables you to store all your log in/passwords in one place, requiring only an initial password for access. It can be installed on your local hard drive or on a USB for more portability. Check it out… KeePass

Update: Some commentors have enlightened me to some more password managers that seem to be better than KeePass. So check out Clipperz and PassPack, both of which are exclusively online.
