File Too Big to Send…Try These:

14 03 2007

These are all free hosting/sharing services that allow you to send large files to your friends or whoever. Generally any file over 24 mb is too large to send through most email clients like gmail, yahoo, or hotmail. Although with the following services you can send files as large as 500 mbs. The following are all registration free to use and generally work the same way by allowing you to browse for a specific file on your computer, then enter a recipients address and pressing send. Keep in mind that these are for sending large files so don’t be alarmed when the process isn’t as quick as your email transfer speeds vary upon file size and generally range from 2 to 10 minutes.

TinyLoad offers no special feature just a simple and quick solution for sending files as large as 300 mb.

mailbigfile definitely offers the largest upload file size with a heavy 512 mb.

YouSendIt offers several ways for sending and hosting files. The basic and free portion is YouSendIt Lite and allows for file transfer of up to 100 mb. The rest require a short registration process and range from $5 to $30 depending on the amount of files you intend on uploading.

sendspace is much like YouSendIt although it offers unlimited uploads with a max file size of a nifty 300 mb.

divShare is the most unique in the bunch as its not meant for people to receive your files through their email but rather download them through a link. Basically what you do is upload your file and instead of divShare just mailing it to one person, they provide you a link to share with all your friends to get that big file.
